OPERACIÓN VALLE PRESENTE es una iniciativa del CIEV (Comité Intergremial y Empresarial Permanente del Valle) en asociación con CFC (Caring for Colombia) para movilizar donaciones deducibles de impuestos en Colombia y fuera de Colombia, en particular en EE.UU, para apoyar la emergencia e impulsar la reconstrucción, luego del terremoto de Colombia de magnitud 7,4 ocurrido el 10 de agosto de 2026. El CIEV, creado en 1993, representa al sector privado de Cali y del Valle del Cauca. Está con conformado por 36 gremios, 7 Cámaras de Comercio y un ecosistema de más de 12,000 empresas de diversos sectores de la región. El CIEV identifica y coordina esfuerzos, impulsa iniciativas y define posiciones con el objetivo de mejorar la competitividad y la productividad de la región y la calidad de vida de sus habitantes. CFC, es una organización sin ánimo de lucro exenta de impuestos reconocida bajo la Sección 501(c)(3) del Código de Rentas Internas de los Estados Unidos que recibe las donaciones en EE.UU y las canaliza al CIEV. CFC fue fundada en Nueva York en 2003, cuenta con el Sello Platino de Transparencia de Candid y ha sido un puente de confianza entre los donantes estadounidenses y las iniciativas de base de alto impacto en Colombia. ¿Cómo se manejarán los recursos?
El CIEV, como representante del sector privado de la región, estará a cargo del manejo y la adecuada asignación de los recursos, trabajando en coordinación con la Alcaldía de Cali, la Gobernación del Valle y las instituciones nacionales responsables del control de la emergencia, con el fin de identificar las prioridades y dirigir la ayuda hacia donde más se necesita.
Somos conscientes de que detrás de cada aporte existe un acto de confianza. Por esto, nuestro compromiso es que cada donante pueda tener claridad sobre cómo se reciben, cómo se administran y en qué se utilizan los recursos aportados a OPERACIÓN VALLE PRESENTE.
El sistema de control se basa en las metodologías del Banco Mundial, y en la experiencia adquirida por el FOREC y el Fondo de Solidaridad del Valle en el manejo de fondos y el desarrollo de proyectos en la Reconstrucción del Eje Cafetero por el terremoto de Armenia de magnitud 6,2 ocurrido el 25 de enero de 1999. En ese evento se utilizaron las metodologías del Banco Mundial.
OPERACIÓN VALLE PRESENTE contará con mecanismos para lograr la transparencia, el control, el seguimiento y la rendición de cuentas sobre los recursos recibidos y su utilización.

How will the resources be managed?
The CIEV, as a representative of the private sector in the region, will be in charge of the management and proper allocation of resources, working in coordination with the Mayor’s Office of Cali, the Governor’s Office of Valle and the national institutions responsible for controlling the emergency, in order to identify priorities and direct aid to where it is most needed.
We are aware that behind each contribution there is an act of trust. For this reason, our commitment is that each donor can have clarity about how the resources contributed to OPERATION VALLE PRESENTE are received, how they are administered and how they are used.
The control system is based on the methodologies of the World Bank, and on the experience acquired by the FOREC and the Valle Solidarity Fund in the management of funds and the development of projects in the Reconstruction of the Eje Cafetero after the 6.2 magnitude earthquake in Armenia that occurred on January 25, 1999. In that event, the methodologies of the World Bank were used.
OPERATION VALLE PRESENTE will have mechanisms to achieve transparency, control, monitoring and accountability on the resources received and their use,
